Precise Lifting and Positioning for Heavy Machinery and Equipment
Getting heavy equipment to a job site is only part of the project. It must also be lifted, positioned and set exactly where it is needed. Goch & Sons Towing provides controlled equipment placement for contractors, industrial facilities, equipment dealers, property managers and other commercial organizations throughout Detroit, Downriver and Southeast Michigan.
Our powerful rotator wreckers combine heavy lifting capacity with extended reach and 360-degree boom rotation. This allows our operators to place machinery and equipment in locations that may be difficult to access with conventional cranes or tow trucks.

Heavy Lifting With Precise Placement
Equipment placement requires more than lifting an object off the ground. The load must be moved carefully through the working area and lowered into the correct position without damaging the equipment, property or surrounding structures.
Our team evaluates the equipment, placement location and site conditions before developing a lifting plan. We coordinate the rotator, rigging, support equipment and personnel needed to complete the placement safely and efficiently.
Equipment Placement May Be Needed For:
- Installing new commercial or industrial equipment
- Positioning machinery within a facility
- Placing equipment on elevated surfaces
- Moving machinery into restricted-access areas
- Loading or unloading heavy components
- Replacing damaged or outdated equipment
- Repositioning equipment during renovations
- Setting equipment on prepared pads or foundations
Commercial and Industrial Equipment Placement
Large machinery and commercial equipment may need to be positioned inside factories, warehouses, mechanical areas or other spaces with limited access. Depending on site conditions, a rotator may be positioned outside or within a building to reach areas that are difficult for conventional lifting equipment.
Indoor and restricted-access projects require advance evaluation. Our team considers doorway dimensions, ceiling height, floor conditions, ventilation, overhead obstructions and the space required to operate the equipment safely.
Equipment We Lift and Place Includes:
- Industrial and manufacturing machinery
- Generators and compressors
- Commercial HVAC equipment
- Heavy-duty pumps
- Forklifts and material-handling equipment
- Construction machinery
- Trailers and containers
- Large commercial components and assemblies
HVAC and Rooftop Equipment Placement
Commercial and residential HVAC projects often require equipment to be lifted from the ground and carefully positioned on a rooftop or other elevated area. Our rotator operators work with HVAC contractors, builders and property representatives to coordinate rooftop equipment placement.
Before the lift, we evaluate the unit’s weight and dimensions, required boom reach, building height, truck setup location and overhead obstructions. This preparation helps the installation team receive the equipment in the correct position.
Generator and Compressor Placement
Generators, compressors and other heavy mechanical equipment often must be positioned on prepared pads, inside enclosures or near commercial and industrial buildings. Their weight and restricted placement areas can make conventional handling difficult.
Our rotators provide the lifting power, reach and control needed to raise these units from a delivery vehicle and lower them into the designated location.
Machinery Moving and Repositioning
Equipment does not always need to leave the property. Machinery may need to be moved within a facility, repositioned during renovations or relocated to create space for new production equipment.
Goch & Sons Towing can assist with lifting and controlled repositioning when conventional forklifts or material-handling equipment cannot safely manage the load. We coordinate with facility representatives and other contractors to support the overall project plan.
Rotator Services for Restricted-Access Locations
Our 75-ton and 60-ton rotator wreckers feature booms capable of rotating 360 degrees. This allows the truck to remain securely positioned while lifting and moving equipment from the side or at another required angle.
A rotator may provide an effective solution when the placement area has limited setup space or when equipment must be lifted over, around or between existing structures. Every project is evaluated individually to confirm that the proposed setup and lift are appropriate for the site.
Rotator Equipment Placement Offers:
- Controlled lifting and lowering
- Extended reach for difficult locations
- Multiple lifting angles
- Precise equipment positioning
- Options for restricted working areas
- Heavy lifting and transport coordination
Equipment Delivery, Unloading and Placement
When equipment must be transported to the project location, our team can coordinate heavy-haul transportation with unloading and final placement. This provides one point of contact for moving the equipment from its original location to its designated position.
Depending on the equipment and project, transport may be completed using a Landoll, detachable gooseneck or another heavy-haul trailer.
